I wanted to do some Avatar: The Last air bender fan art. After doing some research I found the main complaint with other peoples fan art was "That isn't the actual style they use." So i decided to create some thumbnails.

These are rough thumbnails meant to be used as reference to Kung Fu moves, they are not fighting stances and they are not 100% exact. IE/ Hand positions. Some positions may look strange because the person is moving around.

Kung Fu Style: Chu Gar / Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu

Referenced From: random youtube vid, no credit was given to the actual person performing.

Notes:This is Toph Bei Fong's style in airbender. I found it very hard to find vids of the kata's (no idea what the Kung Fu term is, i used to practice Karate as a kid, thats what we called them.) for Southern Praying Mantis, sure there were tonnes of people fighting in the style, but i found most bending (not all) in Airbender were kata's. Usually its the opposite.

Also Southern Praying Mantis is very, very very subtle.

At my school, we just call them forms, I don't know what they call them in other schools :shrug:
